The latest film in the incredibly popular Pretty Cure series, "Movie Idol Pretty Cure! You and I \u266a We've been waiting for so long! We present you a dazzling live concert!", features interviews with Matsuoka Misato, who plays Sakura Uta, Takahashi Minami, who plays Nana Aokaze, and Takamori Natsumi, who plays Zi Yuxin, to share their characters' charms and filming experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Misato Matsuoka (hereafter referred to as Matsuoka): I am Misato Matsuoka, who plays the idol angel\/Sakura!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think Uta is truly a child full of "brightness~\u266a" (Uta's catchphrase). She speaks her mind immediately and can look someone in the eye and sincerely express her admiration for them. This is an innate talent that really shines through in this film. While there's a somewhat tsundere girl named Tora who doesn't like idols, Uta is always open about her admiration for her, always expressing her feelings with a sparkling look and a desire to become her friend. There are scenes in the film where you can feel Uta grow up a little, mature, and develop a sense of responsibility. I think the ability to see a slightly different expression from her usual self is Uta's charm in this film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takahashi Minami (hereinafter referred to as Takahashi): I am Takahashi Minami who plays the role of the charming angel\/Aokaze Nana!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nana wasn't originally the type to enjoy singing or being in front of people. But after becoming an idol Pretty Cure, she's been constantly pondering the question of "what exactly is an idol?" throughout the TV series. This time, there's a line: "That's right... we're idol Pretty Cure," and it feels like Nana has rediscovered her inner understanding of what an idol Pretty Cure should be. Nana is a character who grows gradually, and we get to see her further growth in this film. As someone who has been watching Nana for so long, I'm personally very happy. I hope everyone can feel Nana's growth, and that would be very satisfying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natsumi Takamori (hereinafter referred to as Takamori): I am Natsumi Takamori who plays the role of Heart Angel\/Purple Rain Heart!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xiaoxin is the only Pretty Cure character who pulls off both her main role as a Pretty Cure and her own. Xiaoxin is the type who gets energized by just looking at someone, constantly striving to get closer to them. She doesn't let the influence of someone get her down; she's truly a healthy "light-oriented otaku" (laughs). Hearing Xiaoxin's line about "pushing" gave me a boost of confidence. Because she has such a great line, please be sure to check it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you. Could you please share your feelings when you decided to make the film adaptation?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matsuoka: Having so many lines to say made me feel a heavy responsibility all over again. For a moment, I worried, "Can I maintain my presence as Sakura Uta in a movie that's longer than a TV show?" But Uta is a character I can't play well if I feel uneasy. So, I put all my anxiety aside for a moment and approached the film with the mindset of "enjoying every moment."<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takahashi: I honestly kept thinking, "I really want to be a Pretty Cure, I really want to be in it," and I worked so hard I could call myself a hard worker. And the luxury is that when it comes to Pretty Cure, it's bound to be a movie. So, I was thinking about appearing in the Pretty Cure movie I'd been dreaming of! I was so excited and nervous during the program promotions. Right up until the recording day, I kept waiting, "Is it now? Is it now?" It felt like, "Finally, the recording day! It's the movie recording day!" (laughs). And then, seeing everyone's energetic performances, I felt all over again, "How wonderful it is to be a Pretty Cure." The two days of recording were truly a treasure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takamori: I recorded the movie's theme song, "\u266aHiBiKi Au Uta\u266a," before recording my lines, so I imagined what the movie would be like. Also, I had no idea that the idol Pretty Cure would be making a movie with such a tropical feel. I think it's a theme that could only be achieved in a theatrical version, and I'm really happy about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Makes you think about the meaning of supporting the one you love<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u2500\u2500Next, please tell us about your thoughts when reading the script.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matsuoka: This time, set in the Southern Islands, I imagined a joyful atmosphere of "Wow! It's fruit!" But beyond that, I also depicted moments that make you think deeply. I strongly feel that this work will be enjoyable even for adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takahashi: When I read the script, I was struck by the scenes and emotions that deeply resonated with those involved in promotion. I also promote idols and characters in real life, and because I could empathize and understand the emotions of all the characters, I felt a strong desire to do something for them. There were also many lines that felt like a redemption for Minami Takahashi's life, and they were thought-provoking. I truly learned a life lesson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takamori: This film truly touches upon the psychological roots of "pushing" and those who push it, and using Pretty Cure to portray this is truly remarkable. I think this is a film that will make both children and adults ponder the question of what it means to support someone they love. The visuals are bright, vibrant, and sparkling, but the story is profound. I'm excited to see how it will touch everyone's hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takamori: Although this is the first time that Misato and I met through Pretty Cure, my first impression of her hasn't changed at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the song existed in the three-dimensional world, it would be like this. It's like a real-life version of the song's soul (laughs). He's really a great person!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matsuoka: Oh, so happy! (laughs) Thank you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think everyone's first impression hasn't changed. When we first met, I was moved and thought, "Can I really be ranked alongside these people?" But since then, everyone has been guiding me very gently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This hasn't changed to this day, but in the meantime, I've personally felt that people have gradually become more easygoing and friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Natsumi gave me the impression that she would bring some fun juice (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2500\u2500Fun juice!? (laughs)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takamori: I would definitely buy the juice that says, "This is definitely not going to taste good!" (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matsuoka: Then she'd say, "Would you like a sip? I don't think it tastes good at all" (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takamori: I drank it and found it was just as unpalatable as I'd imagined, which actually made me happy (laughs). I bought it thinking, "This is such an adventure," so I wanted it to taste like a true adventure (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matsuoka: You're buying experience with money. What a mature person! (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Takahashi Minami also gave us a lot of snacks that she brought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takahashi: I definitely buy new gummy candies and the like. But I won't buy anything that doesn't look good. I only buy things I'm sure will taste good (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2500\u2500I can really feel how close you all are (laughs). Do you hang out together privately?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takamori: Takahashi Minami and I met 5 or 6 years ago. We would chat and play games together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, I went to Izumo Taisha Shrine with my voice actor partner Ai Kakuma, who had co-starred with me in "Open the Sky! Pretty Cure" (2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I said, "I want to go for an exorcism," and Kakuma said, "Let's go together!" and also invited Takahashi Minami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matsuoka: Exorcism!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takamori: During the exorcism, there was an incident where Kakuma was the only one whose name wasn't called (laughs), which was really fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takahashi: Yes (laughs). How could something like this actually happen!? (laughs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also went to the beach together, jumping and taking pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takamori: Yeah, I even dropped my phone into the sea while jumping (laughs). The three girls had a fantastic trip (laughs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2500\u2500That sounds really fun (laughs). Finally, please tell us again about the highlights of this work.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matsuoka: The film depicts a variety of perspectives. It also clearly shows that not everything is just "glorious and bright," and it also shows us what to do in such situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this reason, I hope that children who have seen the movie will think of it when they have someone to push and feel troubled or down. Then, perhaps they will realize that "this is actually possible."<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takahashi: This is a work that makes people deeply feel that the Pretty Cure girls really exist in reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think this is a movie that allows children who watch it to experience that many "first push objects" respond to "your" voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takamori: As Komi-sato said, "Idol Mitsumi" is also a textbook example of "puhaku" (promotional activities). For example, it teaches about the proper etiquette when liking something and supporting it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That being said, the way to push varies from person to person, and there's no right answer that says "I absolutely must do this." Even if someone says, "I rely on pushing to keep me alive!", that's the right answer in that person's heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I hope that through this movie, everyone can happily find the way to promote it that makes them most enjoyable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
