Character History and Major Plot Points

  • Stage 1 The Beginning of Admiration and Following—In elementary school, she was hailed as a "genius elementary schooler" for her dancing talent. Just before entering middle school, she happened to watch a live performance video of the "Idol Angel," was deeply moved, and decided to support the idol through action.
  • Stage 2 From Fan to Research Club President—On the first day of school, she founded the "Idol Angel and Winking Angel Research Club" (later renamed the "Idol Pretty Cure Research Club") and appointed herself as president. Shortly after enrolling (episode 2), she met Sakiura Uta and Aokaze Nana, and in episode 6, they formally became friends.
  • Stage 3 Awakening and Transformation—After learning that the Pretty Cure idols fight against dark monsters and purify them through concerts, she was deeply shocked and believed she was not suited to join. It was not until Episode 7, encouraged by Sakura Utano and Aoba Nana to face her true feelings, that she finally transformed into Cure Heart. However, the video of her debut performance after transforming was also uploaded to the internet by Puriru without permission. In the early days of her transformation, she was reserved due to strict hierarchical thinking, and only truly opened up after being allowed to address her seniors by their first names. At the end of Episode 6, she said the exact opposite of her catchphrase, "My heart isn't pounding at all," highlighting her inner struggle and growth.
  • Stage 4 Family Bonds— Episode 14 "Message to Mother: From the Heart" delves into her late father and family background. Set against Mother's Day, the episode offers a glimpse into her deep bond with her mother, Shiu Ai, making the character more three-dimensional and full.
  • Stage 5 Student Council President Election (Episode 41)—In order to prevent the research club from being abolished by candidate Kai Chiyo (voice: Akasaki Chinatsu) on the grounds of "results-first principle," she resolutely decided to run for student council president. During the campaign, she witnessed firsthand the dedication Chiyo showed to the school and the students (such as when Chiyo kindly lied and lent her an umbrella), and was deeply moved. In the end, during the final speech, she voluntarily withdrew from the election and instead gave a speech supporting Chiyo, rediscovering the value and meaning of "supporting others" itself. After Chiyo was elected, she also showed understanding toward the research club.
  • Sixth stage Emotional growth—In episode 31, she begins teasing Zakuri, a fairy who was once an enemy, showing that she has fully integrated into the team. Voice actress Natsumi Takamori revealed that the script originally marked the scene as rather plain, and she improvised with a "teasing" tone based on her accumulated understanding of the character relationships, bringing out Shigure Kokoro's cute and mischievous side.
  • Seventh stage The future after the ending—Five years after the "Idol Precure Grand Finale Concert," Shigure Kokoro, now an influencer, watches Sakura Uta's concert at Hanamichi Dome together with Nana.

Behind-the-Scenes Production and Voice Actor Interview

Voice actress:Natsumi TakamoriShe had previously voiced the fairy Mimi in "Delicious Party♡Precure," and this was her first time voicing a human protagonist in the Precure series. She found Shigure Kokoro's dual identity as "both a fan and an idol" to be highly challenging.

In the Asahi Shimbun serialized interview "Kimi to Kira Kira N Ran,"Natsumi TakamoriShe shared several behind-the-scenes details:

  • Freedom on set: The production team gave the voice actors great freedom during recording, and director Kon Chiaki and others were very accommodating of improvisation. When Takamori asked whether her lines needed to be changed, she was often asked instead, "What would Kokoro say?" This interaction allowed her to interpret the character more deeply.
  • On the "samurai" metaphor: She describes Shigure Kokoro as a "samurai," referring to her strict self-discipline, respect for etiquette, and diligent training in dance.
  • The character's multifaceted nature: As the story progresses, Shigure Kokoro's range of emotional expression continues to expand. Takamori said she does not want her own preconceptions to limit the emotions and possibilities the character can show.

Her Japanese surname "Shigure" has an antique feel, complementing her background of living in a traditional Japanese-style house.

  • Her Japanese surname "Shigure" has an archaic, poetic feel that complements the traditional Japanese architecture of her home.
  • Once, she was so happy to see her idol in person that she completely forgot to ask for an autograph.
  • The nickname "556" derived from the pun on the character's name comes from the Japanese numeric homophone reading of "Kokoro"; "KKR" comes from the abbreviation of the romanized spelling Kokoro.
  • In episode 6, she said "Kokoro kyun kyun shiteimasen" (I'm not at all thrilled), which is the complete opposite of her catchphrase, and it became a famous scene widely shared among fans.
  • The transformation pose "Heartbeat Pose (Kyun Kyun Pose)" itself is a form of fan service (fansa), echoing her dual identity as both an idol and a fan.
