① Worldview Setting
Kirakira Land: The homeland of Purirun and Meroron, ruled by Queen Pikarie; its residents are fairies. In this work, Kirakira Land is made of “human sparkle,” and was later turned into darkness by Darkine and the Chokichoki Gang.
Kurakura Land: Darkine’s stronghold. She calls herself its queen and opposes Kirakira Land.
Chokichoki Gang: An organization that aims to cut away “sparkle” and wrap the world in darkness. Its leader is Darkine; its executives are Jokirine, Katti, and Zakkuri; its monsters are, in order, Makulada, Kuraiaminda, and Darkranda. Their base is a bar.
Idol Precure: Legendary saviors who use song, dance, and fan service to make people whose sparkle was stolen sparkle again. The theme is “Because ‘you’ are there, we shine and become stronger.”
Fan service and items: Signature poses include Cure Idol’s “Idol Smile,” Cure Wink’s “Wink,” and Cure Kyun-Kyun’s “Kyun-Kyun Pose.” Transformation is done with the Idol Heart Brooch; later there are the Kirakira Ribbon Stick and Kirakira Light Stick.
① Episodes 1–7: Awakening Arc
Uta meets Purirun by the river and learns that Kirakira Land has been invaded. To save a regular customer swallowed by Makulada, she sings and awakens as Cure Idol. Nana and Kokoro awaken one after another, and the three form a team to purify monsters with song.
⚠️Spoiler: In Episode 7, Kokoro overcomes her emotional conflict and declares that she will surpass her senior.
② Episodes 8–16: Two-Sword Style Arc
While working as idols (handshake events, TV appearances) and fighting, they collect the Kirakira Ribbons.
⚠️Spoiler: In Episode 12, Darkine’s enhancement crystal gives birth to Kuraiaminda; in Episode 16, Katti is remodeled into a monster because of her longing for the sparkle of idols.
④ Cure Zukyoon & Cure Kiss Arc (Episodes 17–31)
Purirun seals away her memories with Uta and transforms into Cure Kyun-Kyun; Meroron transforms into Cure Kiss and joins the fight.
⚠️Spoiler: To “protect Cure Idol,” Purirun sealed away her own memories with Uta, but in Episode 21, she miraculously recovers thanks to Uta’s song.
In Episode 29, Meroron is sealed by the Heart Sparkle Lock; in Episode 30 she joins; from Episode 31 onward, they are called “the five Idol PreCures.”
⚠️Spoiler: The price Meroron pays is “a future of always being together with Purirun”; she is a “child of darkness,” and a dark doppelganger, Dark Meroron, appears for a time.
⑤ Transfer Student・Kaito Arc (Episodes 32–36)
Purirun/Meroron transfer into Class 3-B under the names “Tanaka Puri” and “Tanaka Meron.”
⚠️ Spoilers: George's true identity is Kaito's old friend Tōya Kazuma; in order to convey his song, Kaito awakens as Connect Angel in episode 42.
⑥ Final Chapter (Episodes 37–49)
⚠️Spoiler: In Episode 37, Cure Idol gains a new power; in Episode 42, Kaito turns his longing into strength and awakens as Cure Connect; in Episode 44, Kurakura Land attacks; in Episodes 48–49, Darkine seals everyone in darkness, Uta alone calls back the light with her song, and the five join forces on the sky stage to purify [the darkness]; Darkine becomes a fairy, and the two lands begin to coexist.
Five years later, Uta becomes a true idol, and everyone reunites at Hanamichi Town Stadium.
⑤ Theatrical Story
Uta and the others are invited by the coral fairy Tott to Aiai Island to take part in the once-every-10-years “Super Miracle Idol Festival,” but they are sent back 1000 years into the past.
⚠️Spoiler: Terra is actually an avatar of the goddess Amas; Amas fell into despair because the “Legendary Idol” quietly departed, and was possessed by Dark Jellyfish; in the end, she was purified and turned to stone, entrusting the goddess’s power to Terra, and everyone in the present day was restored.
Characters
The protagonist of this work, a second-year middle school student who loves to sing. She has a cheerful personality and often sings out her current feelings directly. Her catchphrase is "Sparkling Brilliant" (Kirakki Ranran). While taking a walk, she met the fairy Puriru, who was searching for the legendary savior. When the Cut-Cut Group stole the sparkle from the town, she transformed into an idol angel with the resolve to "make everyone sparkle with my song," and she is the core of the team.
A second-year middle school student in the same class as Utano. She is good at playing the piano, gentle, and smart. Her catchphrase is "Take one step forward, Win-Win Wink!" (Ippo fumidasu Win-Win Wink!). She is the second member to join, using winks as fan service and transforming into a pretty angel. Her mother, Aokaze Mutsumi, is a pianist and is currently away on a performance tour in France.
A first-year middle school student, one grade below Utano. She is good at dancing, cool on the outside but warm on the inside, and a reliable girl. Her catchphrase is "I feel so heart-pounding!" (Kokkyunkyun shitemasu!). She is the third member to join, responding to fans with a kyunkyun pose and transforming into a heartbeat angel. Zakuri once turned her mother into a monster right in front of her, and this experience made her even more determined to protect everyone's sparkle.
A fairy who came from Kirakira Land to the human world in search of "Idol Precure." She has a laid-back, go-with-the-flow personality, ends her sentences with "puri" (プリ), and sparkles can be seen when she blinks. Later, she transforms into Cure Zukyoon through "Zukyoon" fan service and fights alongside Merboo, and the two of them live together at the Tanaka household.
A fairy also from Sparkle Land, she has a strong personality and loves to be pampered, ending her sentences with "mero" (~メロ), and she really likes Puriru. She transforms into Kissing Angel through fan service of blowing kisses. ⚠️Spoiler: She is actually a being born from darkness, and in episode 30 she was momentarily shaken by her dark doppelganger, but in the end she openly expressed her wish to "be friends with everyone."
Kaito Hibiki ひびき かいと/連結天使(Cure Connect)
A world-famous 18-year-old "legendary idol" whom even Oto admires, he has a sincere personality and once aimed to debut as an idol together with his old friends Tōya and Shin. ⚠️Spoiler: After learning that the one who became Georgie was actually Shin, he resolves to sing again, and in episode 42 his feelings become power as he awakens into Connecting Angel, restoring Shin to his original form, and the two promise to chase their dreams side by side once more.
A fairy from Sparkle Land who lives in Hanamichi Town under the name "Tanaka," he is the manager of the idol Precures and also works part-time at the café Glitter. He handles concert venues and scheduling, and is a reliable supporter of the girls; Puriru and Mebo also stay at his house.
The queen of Sparkle Land. ⚠️Spoiler: After Sparkle Land was invaded by Dark Ine, she was sealed in crystal and fell into sleep along with the other fairies, and she is the one Oto and the others are trying to save.
Main Supporting Characters
The leader of the Cut Cut Gang and the queen of Kurakura Land. She attacked Sparkle Land and plunged it into darkness, and even reached her wicked hands into Hanamichi Town. Tall like a demoness, cold-hearted, she shows no mercy to traitors or to Sparkle, and in the end she even cast aside her subordinates once they had outlived their usefulness.
The leader of the Cut Cut Gang and a subordinate of Dark Ine; unlike the other fairies, she is a being created by Dark Ine. After her first sortie in Episode 11, she hid away in the base for a long time—a terrible boss who only talks big and pushes the work onto her subordinates. ⚠️Spoilers: After her subordinates left one after another, she was abandoned by Dark Ine; in Episode 47 she revived in an enhanced form, and was ultimately purified.
Georgie / Kazuma Tōya じょぎ/とうや かずま
⚠️Spoilers: Georgie, an executive of the Cut Cut Gang, is in truth Kazuma Tōya, an old friend of the Link Angel Kaito Hibiki. The two once aimed to debut together as idols, but only Kaito passed the audition, and Kazuma broke off with him because of it, which Dark Ine exploited. He creates monsters from the darkness of people's hearts, appearing from Episode 25 onward, and is finally purified by the Link Angels in Episode 42, returning to being Kazuma and joining hands with Kaito once more.
One of the executives of the Cut Cut Gang, tall in stature yet speaking in a respectful tone, with the catchphrase "~desuzo," and a self-centered personality. He is actually a passionate fan of the Idol Precure, buying their CDs and lining up for handshake events. ⚠️Spoilers: Because he wanted to cheer them on, Sparkle was born within him, and he was remodeled into a monster by Dark Ine; after being purified, it is revealed that he is actually from Sparkle Land, and he now assists everyone as a support staff member.
One of the executives of the Cut Cut Gang, slender in build and speaking with a bit of a rough edge, with the catchphrase "Zakkuri iu to." He often serves as the one to quip at his comrades, but he has also done despicable things such as turning Kokoro's mother into a monster. ⚠️Spoilers: In Episode 24, he was moved by Nana's kindness and had a change of heart, and was afterward remodeled into a monster by Georgie; after being purified by Cure Charm, it is likewise revealed that he is from Sparkle Land, and he now supports the Idol Precure while calling himself a fan of Nana.
Sakura Kazu, Sakura Oto, Sakura Hamori さくら かず・おと・はもり
Hamori's family. Her father, Sakura Kazu, runs the coffee shop Glitter, which is also a place where the Idol Precure often gather; her mother Sakura Oto, her younger sister Sakura Hamori, and their pet dog Q-tarō all live together, forming the warmest support for Hamori as she sings with all her might.
Q-tarō きゅーたろう
The dog kept by the Sakura family. Oto always takes it along when she goes for walks, and it was by the riverbank that they met the fairy Puriru, setting the whole story in motion; on the day of Kaito's comeback concert, it also walked alongside Oto and Kaito.
Aokaze Hajime, Aokaze Mutsumi あおかぜ はじめ・むつみ
Nana's parents. Her father Aokaze Hajime and mother Aokaze Mutsumi both support Nana; her mother is a pianist and is currently away on a performance tour in France.
Shigure Shinji, Shigure Ai しぐれ しんじ・あい
Kokoro's parents. Her mother Shigure Ai gently watches over Kokoro; ⚠️Spoiler: her father Shigure Shinji passed away when Kokoro was a young child.
Higashi Nakami Kotone Higashinaka Mikoto
Oto's classmate and good friend. In Episode 2 she was once turned into a monster by Kati, was saved by the Idol Angel, and afterward became a fan of the Idol Angel, even joining the school's "Idol Precure Research Club."

Natsumi Takamori and This Work
Starring Natsumi TakamoriShigure Kokoro, transforms into "Heartthrob Angel," and is the 3rd Precure member of this series, with purple as her representative color.
Kokoro is one grade below the protagonist, a first-year middle school student who excels at dancing and has a reserved but passionate personality; her catchphrase is "My heart is going pitter-patter!" She makes her entrance at school in episode 2 and awakens in episode 7. Her transformation line is "Dancing with you, the rhythm of the heart! Heart going pitter-patter, Heartthrob Angel!"; her personal technique is the Heartthrob Beam, and her purification technique is Precure・Heartthrob Beat.
She also sings the first ED "Trio Dreams" and the second ED "Kimi to Rurara," as well as the character songs "Kokoro Revolution" and "GR∞VE L∞P" — her singing role in this series is quite substantial. This also marks her return to a regular Precure role after 3 years, following Komugi in "Delicious Party♡Precure."

"Precure" (プリキュア) is a transforming battle-style girls' anime series produced by Toei Animation, which began in February 2004 with "Futari wa Precure," releasing a brand-new work every year from February to January of the following year, with themes, characters, and items changing each year.
Common features of the series: ordinary girls "transform" into Precure using fairies and items, combat is primarily hand-to-hand physical fighting, and the finishing move is "purification" rather than killing; the names after transformation are "Cure + a foreign word."
