Introduction
Subaru is the protagonist of Wish Upon the Pleiades, voiced by Ms. Natsumi Takamori. She is a middle school student who loves the stars. One day after school she wanders into an alternate space, where she is appointed a "magical girl" by the Pleiades alien "Chairman," and from then on works alongside four other girls to repair a stranded spaceship.
She is the last of the five to awaken as a magical girl, and she also carries the friendship storyline that ties the whole work together.
Appearance and Personality
🌸 Pink-haired girl
She has pink hair, and her magical girl outfit is white-based; in the final episode it changes to a black-based form.
😢 Crybaby but strong
She cries easily and often feels lost, but she believes in her companions more than anyone, and she is the emotional core that holds the team together.
🔭 A star geek
She loves constellations and is quite devoted to astronomical knowledge, which is why the Chairman chose her.
🗣️ Terrible at polite speech
She is quite clumsy with polite speech, and even her childhood friend Aoi teases her as "donkusai (clumsy)," which is one of her cute flaws.
Story and Setting
Subaru, a middle school student who loves the stars, wanders into an alternate space after school and is appointed a magical girl by the Pleiades alien "Chairman." She must work with four other girls to collect the scattered engine fragments and repair the stranded spaceship.
Each of the five has her shortcomings and makes mistakes again and again; through misunderstandings and reconciliation with her childhood friend Aoi, Subaru gradually grows, and in the end completes the mission through the power of friendship.

About "Houkago no Pleiades"
This work is a project collaboration between SUBARU (Fuji Heavy Industries) and GAINAX, and is also the last anime produced by GAINAX (the company went bankrupt in 2024).
It was first released on YouTube as a web anime in February 2011 (1 episode split into 4 nights), and a 12-episode TV anime aired from April to June 2015.
